Headstrong to take on anyone...part 2

A quick recap: When last seen Sharee and Thomas were heading to her house, Michelle and Tbone were heading for Temptations, Davi was heading home, and Jack was heading out from the pound with his new puppy.

When Davi got home, he was surprised to not see Timmy. Timmy had left a note saying that he was heading out to enjoy Mardi Gras. Davi just shook his head and hoped that Timmy would be okay. Not too much later, Davi looked out a window and saw he had a visitor, a very large cat. Being a very suspicious sort of man, Davi pulled a gun on it right away. The cat mewed and Davi pulled the trigger (are you getting the idea we are a very direct bunch of people?). The cat was hit, yowled, and disappeared. Davi then waited for the police to visit, which they did. Davi refused to let them in and they said they would be back with a search warrant.

Back on Bourbon Street, Jack had discovered that tipsy females plus a puppy equaled an unparalleled opportunity to get laid. He had his pick of women. One girl, dressed out in punk fashion, won Jack over by simply stating, "Cute puppy. Wanna fuck?" Jack thought that a fine idea and followed her to a hotel room for fun and games.

Growing bored with the street, Michelle headed over to Temptations with Tbone in tow. When she got there, she found it was ladies night complete with Blue and other men dancing. Having seen it before, she went behind the bar and liberated some top shelf tequila. She proceeded to drink and to gather more beads.

Back at the hotel room, Jack was enjoying a post sex dip in the hot tub when his lady friend turned the water to ice and left. Being stuck, there wasn't much he could do when he heard someone else come into the room. It was Adam. Adam asked Jack where his son was. Jack played dumb and asked him what he meant. After going back and forth like that for a time, they both knew it was coming to a fight. Jack pulled his dagger out (Adam had been kind enough to melt the ice so Jack was free) and Adam, a great axe. They got down to the serious business of killing each other. It was epic! Jack was intending to pull Adam's soul into the dagger, just as he had with his insane mentor. Adam wanted to cleave Jack in half. Jack got the hell beat out him, even with his shield spell. A couple of Adam's attacks got through, cutting Jack. Jack managed to hamstring Adam. The puppy (named Him) attacked Adam from behind while Jack handled things up front. It ended with both almost passed out. Adam opened a way into the Nevernever and released a fire spell, setting the room ablaze. Just before he passed out, Jack managed to stick the dagger into Adam and was able to release his spell, drawing Adam into it. Of course, that meant his insane mentor's soul was set free. With the room on fire, Jack was unable to do anything but pass out.

Sharee wasn't having that great of a night either. She and Thomas made it to her place and into her bedroom. There she showed him a small fire spell and told him that magic was real. He was shocked. Then she told him about his being adopted, ie kidnapped. And then there was the whole Fey part. Thomas didn't believe her and stormed out. Poor Sharee then had to deal with her mother who wasn't pleased with Thomas cracking her front door as he slammed it. Eventually, they (Sharee and her mother) made peace.

Back at Davi's, the cops showed up again with a search warrant. As they looked around the place, John Weststone came to visit. He told Davi that Jack was in the hospital. Being unable to leave, he called Michelle first. She didn't answer. He then called Sharee. Sharee headed out to find Michelle. After she checked out the streets, she went to Temptations. There Sharee found Michelle drunk and wearing all her beads as a shirt. Getting Blue to help, Sharee got Michelle out of there and they all headed to the hospital. They got there without incident (we won't talk about Blue and Michelle getting it on in the backseat) and ran into Davi. Davi and Blue butted heads a bit but they both went in to check on Jack. Sharee got the job of dealing with Michelle. After seeing Jack, the boys came out. Sharee asked Blue to let Michelle stay with him for safety reasons. She figured Adam had something to do with Jack being hurt but didn't know Jack had killed him. After dropping Blue and Michelle off, Sharee and Davi went to his place, where they found Timmy passed out on the front porch. Alive, thank goodness.

The next morning, Michelle woke up alone at Blue's. Thank god there was aspirin and coffee for her. She took a shower and decided it was time to KTS on herself. She didn't see any sign of influence but she did see the faint shadow of Blue over her shoulder. Not addicted yet! She headed downstairs and was offered breakfast and a ride to the hospital by Ben Wraith. During the ride there, Michelle told Ben that she wanted a meeting ASAP with his father. She also told him that he fucked up with Sharee and owed her an apology...in person. He agreed to both.

At the hospital, Michelle told the nurses she was Jack's cousin. He was high on morphine and talking about how "he owned him now". Michelle asked him who he was talking about. Jack said it was Adam; that Adam was in the dagger. Michelle's reaction, "oh shit". Then Blue showed up, dressed as a nurse. The two of them got Jack the hell out of there and over to Davi's house. Jack kept telling everyone how he now owned Adam until the morphine made him pass out. One other incident happened to Jack (which we don't know about yet, it only happened to him). As he talked about Adam being in the dagger, Jack heard a deep, guttural voice say he wasn't there and he tasted good. Looks like Jaboo got the dagger after all.

The next day, Michelle was at her shop when Weststone showed up asking about Jack. Michelle really didn't want to tell him anything, so she told him that he would have to talk to Jack about what happened. How do you tell the previous Warden that the current Warden had killed a Fey Lord with his dagger and let loose his insane mentor, who was in the dagger, that he killed by magic? Answer, you don't. Michelle also got a call from Lucas Sims. Apparently there had been a few unexplained deaths he wanted her and the others to check out. The victims died from multiple infections (plague, aids, Ebola) but weren't contagious. Michelle told him to meet her for lunch so she could get more information.

Sharee started her day at home. She wanted to get some information about what was going on the Nevernever. To get it, she lured her fairy friend, Puck, into a trap. After she bribed him with chocolates, he told her that it was all over the Nevernever that Jack had killed Adam and that there would be repercussions of the violent sort.  She promised Puck a specially made cake if he would do some investigating about this for her. He agreed. She then released him and left to go to work. Once there, she found out from her two Fey co-workers that there was a new owner. Her name was Eve and she was Adam's sister. While she was at work, Michelle and Lucas stopped by to eat and talk. He gave Michelle more information about the deaths. There had been three. The first was a doctor. The second was a soccer mom. The third was a female college student. She told Lucas to get her the files on the victims and they would check it out.

That pretty much ended the gaming session. There was a fight between Davi and a Gruff, which Davi won. However, Michelle and Sharee were talking and making plans, so the player taking notes (me!) didn't get the particulars. As soon as I know how it went down, I will update this.

Headstrong to take on anyone

I swear the four of us can cause more mayhem and chaos in two days then most people can in a year. With that being said, this installment of the Dresden game will show you copious amounts of drunkenness and beads, talking cats, the perils of sex, and the fact that honesty may be the best policy but it sure can fuck up a relationship. All this and Mardi Gras week has just begun.

Warning: Most of the game, each of us was on our own. Therefore, many of the paragraphs are going to be a bit short and the continuity a bit choppy. I will do my best to keep everything smooth.

It all started with everyone at Michelle's shop trying to decide what to do with baby Ian. We figured the local Catholic church would be the place to take him. The only problem with that was how to get him there and not have the police ask questions. Michelle decided to call Lucas Sims. If anyone could shut down a local police investigation about the returned baby, it would be him.

OCC: He is the head of a group called the Minutemen. They investigate/take care of situations involving the supernatural. They are also the Feds. Hence, they trump local PD.

Lucas showed up and was not pleased with the group. He kept blathering about how much paperwork we always caused him. Finally, he gave Michelle the number to the Minuteman hotline to report the return of the baby. The four of us thought it would be best to separate. Michelle and Sharee left first, while the boys watched to see if we were followed. We were. The boys then left for the church. The girls went to a diner on the far side of town to make the call. While there, they had some coffee and talked. They also noticed the car that followed them. It wasn't that hard; the idiots parked in a space right in front of the booth they were sitting in. The boys made it to the Church without incident. They weren't able to avoid the resident priest, who had a few questions about the baby. Luckily, the priest knew Davi and also knew about the supernatural of New Orleans. So he wasn't freaked out about it all. He said he would take care of the baby and warned Davi to be on the lookout for some Denarians that could be in town. After the two men left the church, Davi took Jack home and headed back to his place. When he got there, he found a dead gang member on his porch (this seems to happen with great frequency to him).

Still being followed, Michelle and Sharee headed to Michelle's house to crash. As they pulled up in the taxi, the car sped off. They went in and crashed. During the early morning hours, Michelle woke up to someone or something circling her house. She could hear it moving through the bushes and...snuffling? She wasn't able to see what was making the noise, so she made coffee and spent the rest of the dawn hours on the couch with her gun. After waking up Sharee, they got ready and headed out to Curiosity. Since it was the beginning of Mardi Gras, she gave Sharee the day off and told her to have fun.

Sharee headed back to her house, only to find her family not there and the front door open. Cautiously moving through the house, she couldn't see that anything had been disturbed until she came to her room. It seemed to her that it had been rifled through. Not finding anything missing, she called Michelle and let her know about it. They weren't sure if it was Adam's doing but that seemed to be the best guess. Sharee then called Thomas and they agreed to meet for a date.

Michelle, Sharee, and Davi weren't the only ones who were visited. Jack, at his place, heard the the same snuffling as Michelle. He grabbed his shotgun and headed outside. He followed some footprints around to the back and saw a tall man in a trenchcoat and fedora. Being a practical man, Jack simply chambered a round in the shotgun. When the intruder heard that, he took off running.

Meanwhile, Davi was spending his morning reviewing the security tapes from the cameras Timmy had set up. He also summoned Tbone to see if he had seen anything. The answer to that was no since Tbone had spent the evening watching Timmy play computer games. The security cameras were able to catch what happened. Davi watched as the gang member went to the side of the house and lit a joint. He then saw a tall man in a fedora and a trenchcoat come to the front door. Just then he was noticed by the gang member and, before he could raise his weapon, the tall man got to him and twisted his head around, breaking his neck.

Sharee met up with Thomas and they started off to see the sights. This was the first Mardi Gras for him, so they wandered about the streets for a bit. They watched a parade and went to the cemetery to see the procession for the dead. While about Sharee got a couple of unwanted visits. The first was from Ben Wraith. Sharee let him know in no uncertain terms that his attention was definitely not welcome and for him to leave her alone. He smilingly agreed to that but...we'll see. The second visit was from a cat. A huge pinkish white cat. When she touched the feline, Sharee felt a tingle of Fey power. She asked the cat why it was there and what it was. The cat answered that it was a friend of Adam's and it had come to sniff her out. They talked a bit more before the cat melted away. Sharee knew that it had something to do with the baby Ian incident. Great.

After spending a bit of time around the shop, Michelle closed down and headed for home. She had plans for the rest of the day which did not include working. She showered, dressed, and headed out to Bourbon Street. There were beads to be had!

Coming to the decision he needed a dog, Jack went to pound to look for one. As he moved down the corridor, looking for just the right puppy, he came to a cage that had a cat in it. It was a huge pinkish white cat (sound familiar?). The cat talked to him a bit, just like with Sharee. When Jack moved closer, the feline sniffed and told him that it had found what it was looking for. The cat then disappeared. Jack went on to pick out the puppy he wanted: a mastiff mix.

Just hanging out at his house, Davi was spending his time tightening security. After a bit, Tbone appeared again, babbling something about Bourbon Street, vampires, and innocent people being hurt. Davi loaded up his weapons and headed out, ready to kick monster ass. Tbone came with him. Getting to the heart of the street, Davi figured out it had just been a ruse by Tbone to get down there so he could see naked breasts. As luck would have it, Davi and Tbone ran into Michelle as she was flashing her way down the street (she wants lots of beads!). They talked for a bit about what was going on with tall, fedora wearing man. Davi then decided to head for home. Tbone elected to attach himself to Michelle to further his pursuit of naked breasts.

As Sharee, with Thomas in tow, walked down the street, she spied Tbone and Michelle. As they walked over, Michelle waved at Sharee and flashed Thomas, much to his embarrassment. While Thomas got the girls a drink, they talked more about what was going on. Michelle mentioned the tall man Davi had seen and Sharee told Michelle about the talking cat. Neither was good news. They agreed there wasn't much they could do about it but they would keep their eyes and ears open and would deal with whatever came up. After Thomas got back, the two groups went their separate ways. Sharee and Thomas headed back to her house. Michelle and Tbone headed out for more beer, beads, and (for him) breasts.

So ends the first part of Mardi Gras fun. What happens next? Look for the next exciting installment to find out!

Where everything isn't meant to be okay...part 2

We now resume our usual mayhem and chaos.

When Calvin! and Romulus arrived at the address given to them, they were met by an absolutely gorgeous Japanese girl. Calvin! was instantly smitten, especially after he viewed her school girl outfit. She introduced herself as Miko and motioned the two of them to follow her (frankly, in that outfit, Calvin! would have followed her anywhere). Making themselves stealthy with a couple of Forces spells, they moved into the shadows with Miko and her rat. The rat scurried ahead and then stopped. Astonishingly, it seemed to give Miko combat signals with it's paw. Glancing around the corner, the three of them saw two humanoid shapes. One was fairly big; the other seemed to be moving weirdly under it's trench coat. Using Spirit, Romulus saw they were Femori (we had fought one of those in an earlier session- nasty things!). Combat ensued. Romulus used a particularly evil friction spell on the bigger one. Calvin! followed that with a bolt of electricity from the power lines above. Miko was behind the two Femori, striking out with her sword. The three of them managed to kill the bigger of the two. The Femori left melted into a mass of mice and rats.

Meanwhile, Nate was getting to view the fight courtesy of Rebecca and her computer. Due to his ability to use Correspondence, he prepared a spell to help out. He planned to cause the flesh eating bacteria on the Femori's bodies to grow and infect them.

Back in the combat zone, Romulu, Calvin!, and Miko moved further in and came across Tommy, Jack, and another Wererat (that's what Miko was) fighting more Femori. More battle ensued and our group was victorious. Jack was busy torching the bodies as Miko greeted Tommy with a "hi daddy!", causing Calvin! to lose interest in her pretty quickly. She wasn't actually his daughter, just one of his whores. Calvin! also learned, to his relief, that Helvin was alive.

Since the fight there was done, except for the clean-up, Rebecca called up the monster/Marauder fight taking place in the Umbra. Nothing appeared, so it seemed the fight was over. She told Nate she thought the fight had been a diversion of some sort but wasn't sure.

It was now just about 3, so Chloe and Brand headed back to Rapture and Genaro and their date with a tattoo artist. They got to the tattoo parlor without incident. Brand declined to go in. When Chloe and Genaro entered, they were greeted by another Redcap. He was in worse shape then Genaro, which is saying something. He introduced himself as Romero and asked Genaro if he had brought Chloe in to be eaten. Ignoring both implications (food and sexwise) of that statement, Chloe described the tattoo she wanted- covering most of her back, a sunburst as the background with an ouroboros overlaying it. Romero was definitely old school, no tattoo gun for him. It was done with the traditional sticks. Chloe took her shirt off and settled in for a very long evening. She used the time to talk to Genaro about coming with them when they rescued Casey. Somehow, she managed to get him to agree.

The fight being over, Romulus and Calvin! went back to the observatory. After arriving, Calvin! rushed to confront Helvin, who promptly burst into tears. Helvin had been drinking steadily, so he wasn't too composed. The two of them settled down to talk and to share Helvin's whiskey. Romulus decided that this would be a good time to kill off some paradox. He had a bit to burn and the result was the friction around him became nullified. Everything he touched or that touched him just slid right off. He couldn't walk anywhere or grab anything and no one could help him since they couldn't hold him. Eventually, he ended up in a corner of a room. Calvin! also burned off some paradox but his was minor; his hair just stood on end. Paradox generally hits a mage with whatever sphere they used the most.

By the time Romulus ended up in the corner, Calvin! and Helvin were wasted. Somehow, Calvin! got on the topic of Chloe and he decided it would be a swell idea to give her a call. So he drunk dialed her. He reached her just as Romero started tattooing. She wanted to have a bit of fun with him so she put her phone on speaker (so Genaro and Romero could hear) and told him that she was between two men right then. Going on, she said that what was happening hurt at first but then it turned kind of nice and tingly. She kind of liked how it felt. Drunk Calvin! told her that if she wanted to feel good he would do it better then the two men. She should come to the observatory right away and he would be there waiting to show her. About that time Genaro pulled out his phone and started to record Calvin!. At one point, he leaned over to talk into phone, telling Calvin! not to worry, that he and Romero were taking good care of Chloe. That sent Calvin! into his "I can do you better then they can" spiel again. After going through the same conversation a few times, Chloe told him goodnight and hung up the phone. The tattoo took until mid morning to complete. Chloe managed to stand the pain until the very end, which kind of impressed Genaro. She was ecstatic about the end result. It looked gorgeous. Saying goodbye to the Redcaps, she went out to Brand, who was still waiting, and they headed home.

Getting back to the Observatory, they found Calvin! passed out in the backseat of his convertible. He had also puked in the front seat. Chloe woke him up and surprised him with the recording of his phone call the night before. Calvin! shorted out her phone. They headed into the house, only to hear Calvin!'s voice coming from the TV. Genaro had leaked the phone conversation to the entertainment press. Calvin! was not pleased. Neither was Calvin!'s agent.

Now, a meeting for the group had been set up for that evening. Just before it started, Tommy, leading Mel, walked in. He was bruised up a bit but otherwise was fine. Mel, on the other hand, was not fine. She seemed a bit (okay- a lot) more spacey then normal. Since the meeting was taking place in the Horizon Realm, they all headed there. Everyone, except Olivia, attended. Jack, looking very serious, sad, and resigned, greeted them. He started off the meeting by saying that Olivia wouldn't be there. She was gone but safe. That got Chloe's attention. She bluntly asked him just where Olivia was. When he told her he wouldn't tell her, she became enraged. Not caring about keeping a secret anymore, she practically yelled at him to tell her where her mother was. Again he refused and she told him to fuck off and left the meeting. Calvin! followed her outside the Realm, where she promptly burst into tears and buried herself into Calvin!'s arms. After a bit, she got herself under control and went back. Jack was telling everyone that the Entropy in the city was reaching a critical point and that reality had cracked. Brand then spoke up and asked about Casey. Getting her back was the reason for him being there after all. We all agreed that we would go in the next night. Jack ended the meeting by asking if there were any questions. Once again, Chloe demanded to know where her mother was (she has the flaw curiosity which can very easily lead to stubbornness). Jack told her they would talk about it in private, after the meeting.

Thus ended the game. Next week is board game night and the week after is Dresden. Can't wait for both!

Where everything isn't meant to be okay

You know that saying about best laid plans? Well, it's true, as the Mage gamed proved to all. We (the players) had sent emails during the week detailing just what we wanted to accomplish before taking on the Hive. We managed about 2 1/2 of them. Of course, a lot of other stuff happened. Much of it not good.

We started right where we left off last game. The boys were at the Observatory relaxing a bit. Chloe and Brand had just left Christian's office and were heading home. Calvin! decided to go and visit Helvin. He wanted to see if he could talk him into joining us during our raid on the Hive. Both Romulus and Nate agreed to go with him. When they were almost there, they all noticed smoke from a fire. It seemed to be coming from the area where Helvin's house was. Their suspicions proved right. As they drove up, they saw Helvin's house in flames with police and other emergency vehicles around. Calvin! jumped out of the car and attempted to get to the house. He was stopped by police. To get some information, Calvin! lied and told the officer that he was family to the person who lived there and wanted to know what happened. He was told that no one would know what happened until the fire was put out. Calvin! decided to use Forces to help with that. While he was doing so, Romulus got a sense of danger and left the car to search things out. Nate, who stayed in the car, felt the same thing and saw two dark suited agents pop into view, heading towards Calvin!. He attempted to get Calvin!'s attention with an annoying fly. Calvin! just brushed it away and keep ranting. Romulus finally saw the Technocracy agents and made a beeline to get Calvin!. They made it back to the car and drove around until they were sure they weren't being followed.

While driving back to the Observatory, Chloe made a phone call to Fred (vampire friend of Lethal's). She asked if she could meet him somewhere to talk to him. He warily agreed to meet up with her at O'Douls Pub. She told Brand about the change of plans and added that he was to drop her off and be on his merry way. Her answer was a flat stare from him. Deciding it wasn't worth the fight, she told him he could come but had to stay in the car. He agreed to that. Still convinced she didn't need a babysitter, Chloe started peppering Brand with question after question. And, she didn't stop. Frankly, she didn't care much about his answers; she just wanted to annoy the hell out him so he would finally give up and leave her alone. He didn't leave but he did get annoyed. They finally made it to O'Douls. Chloe went inside and headed straight for the table where Lethal, Fred, and a few cronies were seated. Lethal and Chloe traded their usual insults (god help them if they are ever trapped somewhere together). Fred got up and led Chloe to another table. She gave him the pictures of Petite and Shade and explained who and what they were. He seemed relieved that was all she wanted. He bought her a beer as they chatted for a bit. Afterwards, Chloe rejoined Brand and gave him directions to Rapture.

After driving around for awhile, Romulus suggested they go to his place. They got there without incident and holed up for awhile. Calvin!, still being upset about Helvin's possible death, started drinking. After some time passed and Calvin! had a few more drinks, they snuck out the back entrance and took a cab to the Observatory.

Getting to Rapture, Chloe sent Brand to the bar with instructions to relax and get a drink. She talked a bit with Genaro, reminding him of his promise to take her for her first tattoo. He though that was a great idea but it wouldn't happen until 3am, when he got off work. Chloe agreed to meet him back at Rapture then.

Back at the Observatory, Nate was intent on making himself some tea. Calvin! was intent on making himself drunk. Romulus was intent on avoiding the whole Calvin! getting drunk thing. He did so by going outside. As he looked over the horizon, he saw a surge of power, like electricity, over what appeared to be North Hollywood. He headed back inside and told Nate and Calvin! what happened. A sober Nate declined to go with him to check it out but a drunk Calvin! thought that would be spiffy. Romulus was smart enough to suggest that he, not Calvin!, should drive. So, they left.

Being alone, Nate decided to head into Skip's Horizon Realm. Not wanting to disturb Skip, Nate started to walk around, taking in the sights. He noticed the Realm was smaller then he thought; only twenty or thirty buildings were actually there. It was also rundown and seemed to go in circles. What happened next was a big surprise. Nate felt the whole Realm shake. He then saw a flash of light in the distance and watched as a crack appeared in the Umbra. Lastly, he heard a very loud thunderclap.

With time to kill, Chloe and Brand headed out to run her errands. First stop was the pawn shop where she bought a Polaroid camera. She still had to get a picture of Romulus in exchange for learning what Christian knew. Next stop was to her apartment to pick up more clothes. Then they went to get dinner. They still had plenty of time to kill, so Chloe suggested going to Das Bunker for some dancing. Brand said he wasn't going to dance. Chloe said he was. On the way there, Chloe set up some rules. If a hot guy hit on her, Brand was to be her brother who desperately needed to get laid. If an ugly guy hit on her, Brand was to be her just out of county boyfriend who was jealous and mean tempered.

As they entered the area in North Hollywood where Romulus saw the energy surge, the guys came across a 2-3 block blackout. People were milling about, looking at a huge crater/sinkhole in the ground. Calvin! used mind to check the area for any strong emotions that seemed out of place for the event, like happiness or great satisfaction. Romulus used Spirit to check the area out as well. What he saw freaked him out more then a bit. In the Spirit world, the crater wasn't there. What was there was a monster he hadn't seen before. Fighting it were people wielding magic. These people were dressed...oddly. He also saw that our favorite Marauder (for that's what they were) Mel was there fighting right beside the others.

Done with watching the crack and wandering about, Nate decided to head up to Skip's laboratory, where he found a meeting going on. He slipped inside, not drawing attention to himself. Skip, Olivia, Helvin (he's alive!), and Rebecca were talking to a couple of people in suits. Or rather, the gentleman in the dark grey suit was talking to Olivia and Rebecca. The female with him was taking notes. Nate had no trouble figuring out they were Technocracy. As he watched, the conversation ended and Olivia walked through the gate with the two Technocrats.

After they watched the fight for a bit, Calvin! wanted to call Tommy. Mel was associated with him (Not sure if girlfriend or what) and he thought Tommy should be notified about what was happening. He didn't have that number, so he called Chloe, who did. She gave him the number and they talked a bit about what was going on. They both agreed to call the other if help was needed. Calvin! then called Tommy. When he found out where Romulus and Calvin! were, he told them to get the hell out of there. They were needed elsewhere. Tommy gave them the address and they left to meet up with him and Jack.

So ends the first part of the game. On board for the next installment: a couple of fights, what happens when someone drinks too much, paradox is a bitch, and a date is set.

It starts with one thing...part 2

Conclusion to Dresden game:

After Jack, Michelle, and Sharee went home, Davi decided to do a bit of recognizance work. He drove over to Adam's house and scoped everything out. Not seeing anyone, Davi strolled casually onto the grounds, picking up litter as he went. As he was checking things out, he felt/heard something come up behind him. He turned and saw before him an older woman with long grey hair, black eyes, and dressed in a nightgown. She asked Davi what he was doing there and didn't seem to impressed with his answer about the litter. Using her powers against him, she tried the seduction route. He was tempted but was able to fight off the feelings of lust. That made her angry, since all women hate to be refused. All this uproar caught the attention of Adam, who came out to investigate. Again, Davi presented the idea of lawn maintenance and, again, it really wasn't well received. Adam, being Adam, threatened Davi with all sorts of dire events if he didn't leave post haste. Davi, being Davi, didn't like that. Since the verbal route wasn't going well, they both resorted to pulling out weapons. Adam, being a hunter, had his bow with arrow notched and ready to fly. Davi, being a KoTC, pulled out his Katana. The sight of the weapon gave Adam pause. It was made out of steel...ie iron and carbon. The Fey really don't like iron. After more threats were thrown around, Davi casually left Adam's compound, picking up litter as he went.

OCC: I think Michelle has a rival in the "let's see how many of the Supernatural I can piss off" category. Davi seems to have a talent for it.

After waiting for days, Jack finally got his meeting with the Merlin to argue the case against the Warlock. The Merlin was not happy with neither Jack nor the idea of letting the kid live. Jack used the argument that, with the war against the RCVs going on, every potential wizard should be allowed to train. Just because the boy had started down the Warlock path didn't mean he couldn't be turned from it. Jack was also smart enough to NOT use Dresden's precedent as an argument. It was well known in WC circles that the Merlin hated Dresden. He would have ordered Jack to put the Warlock to death immediately if he mentioned it. By winning the social combat, Jack got the Merlin to agree to let the boy live. However, there were conditions. The budding Warlock would be under Jack's authority as his apprentice. If he, as Jack's apprentice, fucked up, his life would be instantly forfeit. As his teacher, Jack's life would be forfeit as well. This did not sit well for Jack at all. He thought it over for a bit and decided the risk was too great. So, he ended up beheading the Warlock. It being his first beheading, he had a bit trouble but eventually finished the deed. One final note to this. Even though it wasn't discussed, there seemed to be an unspoken agreement not to tell Davi about this whole thing. The youth was a member of the gang, after all, and Davi would not be too happy about the beheading.

Now we get to the totally crazy part of the game...the Ball!

For this adventure, the team was split up. Davi had been given an invite but decided not to go. Not a surprise given his view on monsters. Jack had also decided not to go.That left the women. Michelle went all out. She came dressed as courtier of the 18th century complete with corset, stockings, hairstyle, and rouge. Her date for the evening was Blue of course. Sharee showed up with them dressed as a witch...a witch in a 29.99$ Walmart costume. It was hilarious. It barely covered what is was supposed to, which got the attention of a certain WCV, as we find out later. When they arrived, they mingled for a bit and noticed Adam was there.

Backing up a bit, there had been a meeting between the group members about how to get baby Ian from Adam. Due to his experiences, Davi wasn't sure if kidnapping from the manor was possible. There was talk about grabbing the baby when he was off grounds but Sharee pointed out that could lead to police involvement. We all wanted to avoid that.

Seeing Adam there, the ladies decided on their course of action. Michelle, walked over to Adam and basically offered a truce on their dislike of each other. Such was the power of the corseted bosom. Adam asked her to dance and she smilingly agreed. They moved to the dance floor while Sharee went to make a phone call. She was able to reach Jack and Davi and suggested this could be a good time to check out Adam's house and defenses. They agreed and set off.

NOTE: Nowhere in that conversation did Sharee tell Jack and Davi to do what they did. The rest of the evening gets high action, so I will be doing cut scenes.

The Ball: Michelle and Adam were still dancing when Sharee returned from making the call. After that, they mingled a bit and settled in to enjoy themselves. They kept an eye on Adam, however.

The Manor: Jack and Davi got to the Manor and, by using a Veil Spell courtesy of Jack, they managed to sneak onto the grounds unseen and unheard. They made it up to the front entrance. They stopped there and took a look around. The front door and ground door windows were all alarmed. Trying to figure out what to do, Davi sent out a bit of a prayer for help. He heard the chirp of a bird and watched as it lit upon a second floor windowsill and then flew off. He thought that was important but wasn't sure. Conferring together, they concluded "what the hell" and decided to try and get up there. Davi managed to lift Jack up to the windowsill and, when he looked in the room, he saw baby Ian asleep in his crib. He also saw a figure in the bedroom guarding the baby. It was a Gruff, of Billy Goat fame.

Now remember, we never meant for the men to try and steal the baby. This was a search and information gathering expedition.

Jack decided the next course of action would be distracting the Gruff, which he did by using magic to slam the door shut. The Gruff went into the hallway to look around, during which Jack pulled himself into the bedroom and grabbed the baby. The Gruff wandered down the hallway a bit, not noticing Jack there. Now they had to decide how to get the baby out of the room. Going through the house was out of the question. That left lowering the babe out the window. But how?

OCC: Since we weren't there in game, Lana and I couldn't (or really tried not to) give help. It seemed simple to us. Just lower the baby by either telekinesis or by Jack's trenchcoat. The fact that guys had no experience with babies in real life was painfully apparent. Back to the game.

Unfortunately, the guys dithered enough for the Gruff to come back to the doorway. Since Jack was still veiled, all the Gruff saw was baby Ian floating in the air by the window. The Gruff made a panicked phone call at that point.

The Ball: Blissfully unaware of what was happening at Adam's, Michelle and Sharee spent their time enjoying the ball. Since Blue had gone to help with arrangements for the midnight coronation, Michelle was left pretty much to herself but that was okay. She had been keeping an eye on Adam when she saw him answer his phone. His look of rage was unmistakable. She quickly found Sharee and told her to get to Adam and distract him somehow. Sharee ran after Adam as he left the house but was unable to reach him in time. She watched as he drove off in his car and did the only thing she could; she used her magic to disable it. Adam got out and headed around the corner of the house. Sharee felt him use his magic as he ripped a hole into the Nevernever and disappeared. She stood there, outside, not knowing what to do.

The Manor: Jack had finally managed to get the baby and himself out the window and onto the ground. He simply jumped. Luckily, the baby wasn't hurt. Davi and Jack then started a mad dash towards the front gate and Davi's van. The Gruff burst through the front door and raised the alarm. From the woods surrounding the house came a horde of creatures, all intent on killing the intruders. The only thing that bought them time was the fact that Jack still had his veil up. However, baby Ian wasn't a part of the spell, so the monsters were able to see him floating in the air as he was carried away. The Gruff and the others gave chase. By using his grenades and such, Davi was able to keep most of the monsters away. However, the Gruff was able to catch up with Jack and throw him to the ground. Jack dropped the baby but he was unharmed. Davi scooped him up and headed towards the gate again. Jack and the Gruff grappled a few minutes but Jack manged to get his gun out and was able to put a bullet through it's head, finally killing it. He made it to his feet and, just ahead of the rest of the monsters, fell into the van as Davi started to drive away. They went to the one safe place they knew, Michelle's shop. Jack, keeping the baby, let himself in and called Michelle. Davi drove away, hoping to lure any would be followers away.

The Ball: As Michelle waited for Sharee to come back in, her cell phone went off. She answered it and found out that Jack and baby Ian were at her shop. Jack needed her and Sharee to get there as soon as possible. Michelle's reaction was "oh shit" as she went to get Sharee. Sharee's reaction to what happened was "oh shit" as well. Michelle and Sharee came back into the mansion so Michelle could find Blue and make their apologies. While she was gone, Ben Wraith found Sharee and congratulated her on her costume choice. Apparently it had pissed his father off and that pleased him enormously. It pleased him so much, he decided to use on her his power to incite lust and desire. It worked very well...too well. She agreed to meet him in one of the back rooms for a bit of a tryst. Meanwhile, Michelle had found Blue and asked him to get his Uncle so she could talk to him. He did so. When Duke Henry learned that Michelle and Sharee had to leave he was not happy. Not wanting another person pissed at them, Michelle compromised and agreed that they would stay for the coronation but would leave right after. That made Henry happy and they left the room, which made Ben happy since that was where Sharee was to meet him. Sharee met up with Ben and did everything sexual but the actual deed (she is a virgin but not for long if Ben has his way). Michelle and Blue snuck off to have a tryst of their own, which did include full blown sex. The coronation went off with only one glitch. When Adam's name was called, he wasn't there to present himself to the new Duke. Afterwards, Michelle and Sharee get the hell out of there and headed to the shop to meet up with Jack and the baby.

The game ended there with all but Davi at the shop, deciding what would be the best way to get baby Ian back to his original family. What a night!
