It starts with one thing...part 2

Conclusion to Dresden game:

After Jack, Michelle, and Sharee went home, Davi decided to do a bit of recognizance work. He drove over to Adam's house and scoped everything out. Not seeing anyone, Davi strolled casually onto the grounds, picking up litter as he went. As he was checking things out, he felt/heard something come up behind him. He turned and saw before him an older woman with long grey hair, black eyes, and dressed in a nightgown. She asked Davi what he was doing there and didn't seem to impressed with his answer about the litter. Using her powers against him, she tried the seduction route. He was tempted but was able to fight off the feelings of lust. That made her angry, since all women hate to be refused. All this uproar caught the attention of Adam, who came out to investigate. Again, Davi presented the idea of lawn maintenance and, again, it really wasn't well received. Adam, being Adam, threatened Davi with all sorts of dire events if he didn't leave post haste. Davi, being Davi, didn't like that. Since the verbal route wasn't going well, they both resorted to pulling out weapons. Adam, being a hunter, had his bow with arrow notched and ready to fly. Davi, being a KoTC, pulled out his Katana. The sight of the weapon gave Adam pause. It was made out of steel...ie iron and carbon. The Fey really don't like iron. After more threats were thrown around, Davi casually left Adam's compound, picking up litter as he went.

OCC: I think Michelle has a rival in the "let's see how many of the Supernatural I can piss off" category. Davi seems to have a talent for it.

After waiting for days, Jack finally got his meeting with the Merlin to argue the case against the Warlock. The Merlin was not happy with neither Jack nor the idea of letting the kid live. Jack used the argument that, with the war against the RCVs going on, every potential wizard should be allowed to train. Just because the boy had started down the Warlock path didn't mean he couldn't be turned from it. Jack was also smart enough to NOT use Dresden's precedent as an argument. It was well known in WC circles that the Merlin hated Dresden. He would have ordered Jack to put the Warlock to death immediately if he mentioned it. By winning the social combat, Jack got the Merlin to agree to let the boy live. However, there were conditions. The budding Warlock would be under Jack's authority as his apprentice. If he, as Jack's apprentice, fucked up, his life would be instantly forfeit. As his teacher, Jack's life would be forfeit as well. This did not sit well for Jack at all. He thought it over for a bit and decided the risk was too great. So, he ended up beheading the Warlock. It being his first beheading, he had a bit trouble but eventually finished the deed. One final note to this. Even though it wasn't discussed, there seemed to be an unspoken agreement not to tell Davi about this whole thing. The youth was a member of the gang, after all, and Davi would not be too happy about the beheading.

Now we get to the totally crazy part of the game...the Ball!

For this adventure, the team was split up. Davi had been given an invite but decided not to go. Not a surprise given his view on monsters. Jack had also decided not to go.That left the women. Michelle went all out. She came dressed as courtier of the 18th century complete with corset, stockings, hairstyle, and rouge. Her date for the evening was Blue of course. Sharee showed up with them dressed as a witch...a witch in a 29.99$ Walmart costume. It was hilarious. It barely covered what is was supposed to, which got the attention of a certain WCV, as we find out later. When they arrived, they mingled for a bit and noticed Adam was there.

Backing up a bit, there had been a meeting between the group members about how to get baby Ian from Adam. Due to his experiences, Davi wasn't sure if kidnapping from the manor was possible. There was talk about grabbing the baby when he was off grounds but Sharee pointed out that could lead to police involvement. We all wanted to avoid that.

Seeing Adam there, the ladies decided on their course of action. Michelle, walked over to Adam and basically offered a truce on their dislike of each other. Such was the power of the corseted bosom. Adam asked her to dance and she smilingly agreed. They moved to the dance floor while Sharee went to make a phone call. She was able to reach Jack and Davi and suggested this could be a good time to check out Adam's house and defenses. They agreed and set off.

NOTE: Nowhere in that conversation did Sharee tell Jack and Davi to do what they did. The rest of the evening gets high action, so I will be doing cut scenes.

The Ball: Michelle and Adam were still dancing when Sharee returned from making the call. After that, they mingled a bit and settled in to enjoy themselves. They kept an eye on Adam, however.

The Manor: Jack and Davi got to the Manor and, by using a Veil Spell courtesy of Jack, they managed to sneak onto the grounds unseen and unheard. They made it up to the front entrance. They stopped there and took a look around. The front door and ground door windows were all alarmed. Trying to figure out what to do, Davi sent out a bit of a prayer for help. He heard the chirp of a bird and watched as it lit upon a second floor windowsill and then flew off. He thought that was important but wasn't sure. Conferring together, they concluded "what the hell" and decided to try and get up there. Davi managed to lift Jack up to the windowsill and, when he looked in the room, he saw baby Ian asleep in his crib. He also saw a figure in the bedroom guarding the baby. It was a Gruff, of Billy Goat fame.

Now remember, we never meant for the men to try and steal the baby. This was a search and information gathering expedition.

Jack decided the next course of action would be distracting the Gruff, which he did by using magic to slam the door shut. The Gruff went into the hallway to look around, during which Jack pulled himself into the bedroom and grabbed the baby. The Gruff wandered down the hallway a bit, not noticing Jack there. Now they had to decide how to get the baby out of the room. Going through the house was out of the question. That left lowering the babe out the window. But how?

OCC: Since we weren't there in game, Lana and I couldn't (or really tried not to) give help. It seemed simple to us. Just lower the baby by either telekinesis or by Jack's trenchcoat. The fact that guys had no experience with babies in real life was painfully apparent. Back to the game.

Unfortunately, the guys dithered enough for the Gruff to come back to the doorway. Since Jack was still veiled, all the Gruff saw was baby Ian floating in the air by the window. The Gruff made a panicked phone call at that point.

The Ball: Blissfully unaware of what was happening at Adam's, Michelle and Sharee spent their time enjoying the ball. Since Blue had gone to help with arrangements for the midnight coronation, Michelle was left pretty much to herself but that was okay. She had been keeping an eye on Adam when she saw him answer his phone. His look of rage was unmistakable. She quickly found Sharee and told her to get to Adam and distract him somehow. Sharee ran after Adam as he left the house but was unable to reach him in time. She watched as he drove off in his car and did the only thing she could; she used her magic to disable it. Adam got out and headed around the corner of the house. Sharee felt him use his magic as he ripped a hole into the Nevernever and disappeared. She stood there, outside, not knowing what to do.

The Manor: Jack had finally managed to get the baby and himself out the window and onto the ground. He simply jumped. Luckily, the baby wasn't hurt. Davi and Jack then started a mad dash towards the front gate and Davi's van. The Gruff burst through the front door and raised the alarm. From the woods surrounding the house came a horde of creatures, all intent on killing the intruders. The only thing that bought them time was the fact that Jack still had his veil up. However, baby Ian wasn't a part of the spell, so the monsters were able to see him floating in the air as he was carried away. The Gruff and the others gave chase. By using his grenades and such, Davi was able to keep most of the monsters away. However, the Gruff was able to catch up with Jack and throw him to the ground. Jack dropped the baby but he was unharmed. Davi scooped him up and headed towards the gate again. Jack and the Gruff grappled a few minutes but Jack manged to get his gun out and was able to put a bullet through it's head, finally killing it. He made it to his feet and, just ahead of the rest of the monsters, fell into the van as Davi started to drive away. They went to the one safe place they knew, Michelle's shop. Jack, keeping the baby, let himself in and called Michelle. Davi drove away, hoping to lure any would be followers away.

The Ball: As Michelle waited for Sharee to come back in, her cell phone went off. She answered it and found out that Jack and baby Ian were at her shop. Jack needed her and Sharee to get there as soon as possible. Michelle's reaction was "oh shit" as she went to get Sharee. Sharee's reaction to what happened was "oh shit" as well. Michelle and Sharee came back into the mansion so Michelle could find Blue and make their apologies. While she was gone, Ben Wraith found Sharee and congratulated her on her costume choice. Apparently it had pissed his father off and that pleased him enormously. It pleased him so much, he decided to use on her his power to incite lust and desire. It worked very well...too well. She agreed to meet him in one of the back rooms for a bit of a tryst. Meanwhile, Michelle had found Blue and asked him to get his Uncle so she could talk to him. He did so. When Duke Henry learned that Michelle and Sharee had to leave he was not happy. Not wanting another person pissed at them, Michelle compromised and agreed that they would stay for the coronation but would leave right after. That made Henry happy and they left the room, which made Ben happy since that was where Sharee was to meet him. Sharee met up with Ben and did everything sexual but the actual deed (she is a virgin but not for long if Ben has his way). Michelle and Blue snuck off to have a tryst of their own, which did include full blown sex. The coronation went off with only one glitch. When Adam's name was called, he wasn't there to present himself to the new Duke. Afterwards, Michelle and Sharee get the hell out of there and headed to the shop to meet up with Jack and the baby.

The game ended there with all but Davi at the shop, deciding what would be the best way to get baby Ian back to his original family. What a night!
